WILSON'S FLY SHOP

Our Toronto store opened in April 1998 after our owner could not find what he wanted in a fly shop which is what every customer wants: great service, excellent selection and friendly advice. We focus on providing a friendly shopping environment in our stores and online and industry-leading education and outfitting programs complimented by a unique travel incentive program and has earned us loyal customers across Canada and around the world.

FAMILY HISTORY

The Wilson family has been on New Brunswick's Miramichi River since the 1790s and we have been in the fishing business since 1855. Thomas Wilson (pictured right) was the first to bring 'sports' to the river and his son John continued this tradition into the late nineteenth century. John's son Willard (pictured above with his wife Sarah and their children left to right: Laurence, Louise, Jim, Murray, Bill, Francis, Tom and Marie) focused the family on fly fishing in particular and upon his passing Willard's son Murray ran the business which eventually passed to his son Karl and then to Willard's great-grandson Keith. Keith and his wife Bonnie now run Wilson's Camps and while we do not own a part of the family lodge we always promote it to our customers because we believe a fly fishing resume is not complete until you have caught a salmon on the Miramichi and we think there is no better place to do so than at Wilson's!
