Winter Hatches Fly Fishing Club

No Comments Uncategorized

There are a number of excellent fly fishing clubs in southern Ontario and while many of them are well know, an equal number of fly fishing clubs have done an extraordinarily good job of keeping a low profile. If you live in the city of Toronto you may want to look into the Winter Hatches Fly Fishing Club.

The idea for creating Winter Hatches came up in the late 1980’s when a number of local fly fishers were discussing the creation of a Toronto-based fly fishing club to prevent having to fight traffic to attend meetings of other fly fishing clubs then located in the far reaches of the Toronto suburbs. Long story short, the first meeting of the club took place in 1990 and Judy Sprott is the person who suggested it be called “Winter Hatches” – which is truly one of the more inventive club names in our sport ! This Club has a strong membership and is well worth joining.
