I had to speak with a friend of the store the other day and was able to reach him on his cell phone. He works construction and with the wind chill the radio was saying that it was -23 C so when I reached him I wanted to keep our conversation to a minimum so he wouldn’t freeze his fingers and I wouldn’t lose a friend for being so inconsiderate. Well, the phone rings. It continues to ring. Just as I am about to hang up I hear the pick up ’beep’ and then the phone get dropped… “Hello?”
“Hi, it’s WILSON’S fly shop calling about your order.”
“Oh, hey ! How are you ?”
“Never mind me, I hope you’re well. Look, I don’t want to keep you because I know you work construction outside and I don’t want to keep you talking on a cell phone outside on a day like today.”
“No worries – I’m fishing!”
“…you’re kidding ?”
“I’m east of the city and having a great day! No one is around because of the weather and the fish are biting like there’s no tomorrow. I couldn’t be better!”
“Have you noticed that it’s -23 C!”
“I learned a long time ago that there isn’t any bad weather, just bad clothing !”
Ain’t that the truth… (but what a nut bar – lol)
