WILSON’S has been running th Toronto Fly Fishing School for over 10 years and we are fortunate to have a stable of excellent instructors. This 1-day course is held on Saturdays from May through October and taught on still water ponds so students can get used to casting in a controlled setting. Many fly fishing schools in Ontario are held on rivers but in our mind taking a student to a river for a beginner’s course is like taking a new driver onto a highway to teach them how to drive. In order for someone to pick up the basics they need to learn in the controlled environment found on still-water ponds before graduating to more challenging venues. Our course is $189/person and worth every penny. We supply all of the necessary equipment and lunch, all you have to do is dress for the weather and bring a hat and sunglasses.
The Toronto Fly Fishing School focuses on teaching all of the basics you need to learn in order to fly fish on your own. What that means is classroom sessions and hand’s-on instruction rather than a 20 minute overview and a day of fishing with someone watching over your shoulder. We teach you how to fly fish at the Toronto Fly Fishing School.
