Ontario has an abundance of great fly fishing destinations but most people don’t even consider them because of personal preferences that in our experience typically focus on Brown Trout, Steelhead or Atlantic Salmon. The single most important factor to finding great places to fly fish in Ontario is to change our focus from ‘species’ to ‘experience’. Once this is done your list of places to have a great day of fly fishing explodes !
We all have our preferences as to what kind of fly fishing we prefer (dry fly vs wet fly, single handed rods vs double handed rods, steelhead vs brown trout, etc) but the common denominators to all is catching fish and/or simply enjoying the day.
