Ignorance or Arrogance ?

Credit River Fly Fishing 2
I was speaking with a friend of mine on the river today who passed along an unfortunate incident he experienced recently on the Credit River. While he was fishing a pool an angler walking along the bank entered the water quite near him and started to cast. Puzzled by this lack of fishing etiquette, my friend suggested to the interloper that he was being impolite and should find another place to fish. With that the other angler got belligerent and proceeded to walk through the pool in front of my friend before heading down stream. I attribute actions like this to more than a complete lack of courtesy, they reflect what seems to be an unfortunate growing lack of consideration for our rivers and the people who use them. Our angling community is relatively small and many new anglers in particular need to be educated so if you see someone doing something discourteous on the river take the time to politely point it out – we will all win…
