If you are looking for a great place to fly fish for brook trout you should consider setting your sites on the Beaver Valley. I’m not talking about catching trophy brook trout per se but rather rewarding opportunities to fly fish water that has very little angling pressure. The number of places to fly fish in the valley are hindered by ‘no trespassing’ signs but my (recent) experience has been that if you ask permission and explain you are fly fishing and practice catch and release you will be rewarded for your efforts.
In particular, the upper reaches of the Beaver River and the waters above Hoggs Falls (which originate with the Boyne River) off of Lower Valley Road are worth a visit if you are in the area as both offer excellent fishing that is virtually untouched – mostly because of the effort required to access it. Another tough area to access but one that offers good fishing is the Eugenia Gorge. Many spots in the Beaver Valley area are not for the faint of heart or for beginner anglers as the streams narrow and get crowded with brush. If you go remember to bring water, your own lunch and a good supply of insect repellent…

I can’t get to the access map for the Beaver – please help.
