Drawn to The River

I was heading to a meeting in Meadowvale yesterday morning when I found myself with some time to kill beforehand. Instead of heading to a coffee shop to read the paper I drove my car north of Old Derry Road along 2nd Line West, parked and walked to the Credit River where I spent a few minutes scouting a stretch of water on which I have not spent any time. It felt odd standing in what to my eyes appeared to be an oasis but to my ears was obviously a stretch of river underneath a busy road. Regardless, it was a great antidote to a hectic start to my day. The only thing that could have made it perfect was having the time to take my fly rod out of my truck to see what lurked in the waters below… I will be back.
