Those of you who read our blog on a regular basis have probably noticed that the “Reviews” section has been blank since we started the blog. The reason is we have been re-thinking this part of the site. Well, we recently made up our minds on what we want to do… lol.

We changed this part of the site to “Reviews & Reports” the other day and will shortly start posting river conditions and fishing reports on this section of our site. In our efforts to provide good, timely information for the fly fishing community we will appreciate receiving any updates you can provide.

Kidding aside, the rain we are experiencing is helping bring about great fishing conditions which should be ideal in the near future. The Credit River for example is a bit high at the moment and still too cold for any good hatches but this should change by early next week (can you say ‘hendrickson’ ?).

Many of you stopped by our booth at the Toronto Sportsmen’s Show to enter draws for free admittance to the Toronto Fly Fishing School and for an overnight stay at the Jasper Stuart House in Kimberly, Ontario.

For those of you who did not drop by our booth at the shows we attended this spring we want to make you aware of our new travel incentive program.

If you book a fly fishing trip by calling the lodge directly or booking it through our store you pay the same price but because we are a retailer we get paid a referral that is not offered to the public. WILSON’S is giving much of this referral back to anyone who books any trip through our store in the form of a gift certificate worth 10% of the trip value to spend in our fly shop. For example, if the trip is $1,000 you get a $100 gift certificate. The way it works is this: first, we call the lodge on your behalf and confirm the booking. Secondly, you pay a non-refundable minimum deposit of the trip value (deposits vary with each destination) directly to the lodge and after confirmation of deposit from the lodge we give you the gift certificate to spend in our store. It’s that simple !

If you would like to book a lodge that is not currently participating in our travel program just let us know. We will be more than happy to contact them on your behalf and if they agree to participate you get a gift certificate worth 10% of the trip value to spend at WILSON’S.

To our knowledge no other fly fishing retailer is offering this incentive. We look forward to answering any questions you may have and hope our fly fishing travel program helps you to get on those fly fishing trips that you have been dreaming about !
